Sojedong Cafe Street (Railway Workers' Village)
📍 동구 소제동, Daejeon
Soje-dong Cafe Street formed as cafes and restaurants gradually moved into the alleys of an old railway workers' housing village east of Daejeon Station. It is introduced as an example of a once-declining old downtown area drawing renewed attention. It is also often cited as a leading case of old downtown regeneration in Daejeon.
Renovated old inns and houses are mixed with cafes, galleries, and guesthouses, making it a good place to walk the alleys and see old buildings and murals together. It is close to Daejeon Station, so it is also reachable by metro.
