Gyeongju Yangnam Columnar Joint Observatory
📍 양남면 동해안로, Gyeongju
The Yangnam Columnar Joints are coastal rock formations split into hexagonal columns. What sets the site apart is that alongside columns standing upright, there are also formations lying on their side, fanned out like an open fan.
An observation deck stands partway along the coastal trail, letting you look down over the formations from above. It is far from downtown Gyeongju, so it fits naturally into an East Coast driving route.
