Hoeamsaji is a temple site on the slopes of Cheonbosan — once the largest royal temple site of the Joseon dynasty, and one that received active royal patronage even though Joseon favored Confucianism. Today no buildings remain, but the foundations left on the site still hint at its former scale.
The Yangju Hoeamsaji Museum opened in 2012 to shed new light on the temple site's history. After viewing the excavated artifacts and exhibits, you can continue on foot to the outdoor temple grounds and the observation deck.
