Yangnim-dong Penguin Village Craft Street

📍 남구 양림동, Gwangju

Yangnim-dong Penguin Village Craft Street photo

Yangnim-dong Penguin Village Craft Street preserves the old village lanes and has been decorated around them. The name is said to come from the way older village residents with uncomfortable knees walked, which resembled penguins.

Discarded objects and small props are displayed along the walls, turning the alleys themselves into something to see. Leather, textile, and woodworking studios are clustered here too, so you can shop for small items or try a craft experience. It's a fun place to look closely into each corner of the lanes.
