Gatbawi Sea Pedestrian Bridge
📍 용해동(평화광장 인근), Mokpo
Gatbawi Rock gets its name from its resemblance to a monk wearing a traditional sedge hat (satgat), and it's counted among Mokpo's signature sights. It's also interesting that several different legends are told about how the rock came to be.
Walk the sea pedestrian bridge along the Yeongsan River and you can view Gatbawi Rock up close from over the water — the bridge also rises and falls with the tide, which is one of its distinctive features. Admission is free, making it a great course for a casual stroll.
