Deogyusan Sightseeing Gondola to Hyangjeokbong Peak
📍 설천면, Muju
Deogyusan's Hyangjeokbong Peak stands 1,614m above sea level and is said to rank as Korea's fourth-highest mountain peak. You take the gondola up to Seolcheonbong, then follow a short ridge to the summit.
Around the summit, yew trees, Korean firs, and royal azalea colonies grow, bringing a different scene each season; in winter, heavy snowfall makes it well known for snowscapes. There is also said to be a ridge traverse course that continues to Namdeogyusan.

Useful tips
- The stretch from Seolcheonbong to Hyangjeokbong is a short ridge section, so just taking the gondola still gives you access to summit views.
- Because it's high-altitude terrain, temperatures are lower than on the plains, so it's best to bring outerwear suited to the season.
- Gondola operating hours and fares vary by season, so check official channels before you visit.
