Gacheon Darangyi Village

📍 남면 홍현리, Namhae

Gacheon Darangyi Village photo

Gacheon Darangyi Village is where earlier generations, short on farmland, cut into the hillside and stacked stones to build terraced rice paddies. The narrow, long paddies start from the sea and climb step by step toward Eungbongsan and Seolheulsan.

This unique landscape earned it a designation as Scenic Site No. 15. The village has sights scattered throughout, including Bapmudeom (a village shrine mound), Amsubawi (the male and female rocks), Mongdol Beach, and a suspension bridge, and you can make a full loop along the walking paths and observation deck in a little over an hour.
