Daegwallyeong Sheep Farm

📍 대관령면, Pyeongchang

Daegwallyeong Sheep Farm photo

Daegwallyeong Sheep Farm is designated by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry as a farm that manages both animal welfare and forest conservation. It began taking its current shape in 1989 when the first barn was built, followed by the introduction of sheep in 1991.

Walking along the trail, you'll come across sheep grazing leisurely in the pasture, and you can feed them. The sheep graze in the pasture from mid-May to late October and stay in the barn during winter, and from the trail's summit at 920m above sea level, the Baekdudaegan mountain range opens up in a sweeping view.

Useful tips

  • Sheep are only grazed in the pasture from mid-May to late October, so in winter you'll find them over by the barn.
  • Hay for the feeding experience is usually purchased on site.
  • Climbing to the top of the trail gives you a view over the Baekdudaegan range, so it's best to allow plenty of time.
