Goraebul Beach
📍 병곡면 병곡리, Yeongdeok
Goraebul Beach is a stretch of sand nearly 8km long, running along six coastal villages in Byeonggok-myeon. According to legend, the late-Goryeo scholar Yi Saek (pen name Mogeun) named it Goraebul after seeing whales (gorae) frolicking offshore.
Thanks to its long sandy shore, shallow water, and deep pine-forest shade, it's also known as Myeongsa-isipri ('20-ri of fine sand') and is a favorite summer getaway for families. A national campground on-site offers caravan sites, camping, and even a kids' water play area.
