Fukuoka Tower is a viewpoint near Momochi Beach where you can see the city and the sea together. On a clear day, it's a good place to take in Hakata Bay and the Seaside Momochi area at a glance.

It's a little away from the city center, so pairing it with Ohori Park or the PayPay Dome area helps cut down on travel time.

Useful tips

  • The sunset hour has great views, but you should also expect waits and crowded return buses.
  • If you add a beach walk, bringing a windbreaker will make it much more comfortable.
  • When planning a Momochihama route, you'll likely wonder whether to visit the beach or the observation deck first. According to the official guide, the tower is about 25 minutes by bus from Hakata Station and about 20 minutes from Tenjin, so it's best to plan your return transportation first too.
  • The official site posts separate notices for illuminations and seasonal events. On days when you include night views, check not only the observation deck but also the outdoor lighting schedule.

Frequently asked questions

What can you see from the observation deck?

The official site says the top-floor observation deck, 123m above ground, offers 360-degree panoramic views of downtown Fukuoka and Hakata Bay. Hours and last admission can change, so check the official guidance.
