Brown Dot Hotel, Gwangju Sangmu Branch
📍 Gwangju · 4 stars · ★ 4.0 (334 reviews)
A business hotel right in the middle of Gwangju's Sangmu District. An unusual number of reviews come from people staying for a business trip or a conference, and the next theme that keeps recurring is praise for the breakfast and the cleanliness of the rooms.
One point that stands out in reviews is that a Styler garment-care cabinet and an air purifier in the room make it especially easy on trips where you carry a lot of clothes.

-
A quiet night's sleep

Explore the property
It sits in the middle of Sangmu District, so restaurants and shops start the moment you step outside. Reviews say there were so many places to eat nearby that dinner was never a worry.
The front desk is open 24 hours, and reviews say staff took their bags when they arrived before check-in. Early check-in and late check-out are available for a fee, depending on room availability.
Reviews call the rooms spacious and tidy, helped by floors that are not carpeted. Guests mention a Styler garment-care cabinet and an air purifier in the room and air conditioning that works well, and one praises the warmth rising from the floor in winter.
Plenty of reviews call the bathroom tidy. That said, some note there is no shower curtain, so the floor gets slippery when water splashes, and others had to buy shampoo separately, so bringing your own toiletries is the easier route.
Breakfast is mostly Korean, and several reviews liked the instant ramyeon machine and the side dishes. Others note it gets hectic when everyone turns up at once, and some found the taste and quality disappointing, so keep expectations moderate. Breakfast has to be requested before you arrive and is not served on Mondays.
There is a banquet hall, so it works for itineraries with an event or gathering built in. Many reviewers came for a conference or a business trip, so it suits visits with a clear purpose.

청소상태가 안 좋습니다. 방을 한번 바꿨는데도 화장실 용품은 던 건지 반도 안 찬 게 끈적거리고 수건은 누렇고. 결정적으로 선반이나 창틀에 먼지가 뽀얗습니다.
