The alley starts when you come out of Haeundae Station on the metro and head behind the former Haeundae Station on the old Donghae Nambu Line. After the railway was closed, small shops gradually moved into what had been a quiet residential area, and the street picked up its name.
It is a nickname made by combining the "Hae" from Haeundae with Seoul's Gyeongnidan-gil, so it is not an official administrative place name. Cafes, bars, and small lifestyle shops in renovated old houses line both sides of the narrow lanes, making it fun to walk while looking at the signs and storefronts.
It is within walking distance of Haeundae Beach, so it is easy to add before or after beach plans. It is not large, so a loop does not take long, and because opening hours vary by shop, it is easier to browse from midday onward.
