EasyTicket Ssanggyesa & Simni Cherry Blossom Road

Ssanggyesa Temple was founded by the monk Sambeop, who built it after returning from his studies in Tang China during the reign of Silla's King Seongdeok. The temple was originally named Okcheonsa in the 2nd year of King Munseong's reign, renamed Ssanggyesa in the 2nd year of King Jeonggang's reign, and rebuilt during the Imjin War under King Injo of Joseon after it burned down.
The roughly 6km cherry blossom road leading from the temple entrance is covered in a tunnel of blossoms each spring, making it one of Hadong's signature cherry blossom spots. Even outside blossom season, the trail follows a valley and makes for good walking year-round.

Useful tips
- Simni Cherry Blossom Road gets very crowded during blossom season, so an early-morning visit is much more relaxed.
- Walk on to the valley trail inside the temple grounds for a good stroll even outside blossom season.
- It's also known as the birthplace of Korean tea cultivation, so it pairs well with a visit to the surrounding tea fields, and check official channels for opening hours.
