Gomosanseong Fortress & Tokkibiri

📍 마성면 진남, Mungyeong

Gomosanseong Fortress & Tokkibiri photo

Gomosanseong is a stone fortress built by Silla during the Three Kingdoms period on Ojeongsan in Maseong-myeon, Mungyeong — its main wall and auxiliary wall together run 1.6km around. It was a fierce battleground in the Three Kingdoms era, and this historic site saw renewed fighting through the Goryeo and Joseon dynasties and even into more recent conflicts.

Climb along the fortress wall and the sweeping view of Jinnamgyoban opens up; the path from Jinnammun leads to Tokkibiri, a thousand-year-old plank trail built onto the cliff face — a surviving trace of the old Yeongnam Great Road. Walking both the wall and the plank trail together takes about an hour.
