Jeongdo-ri Gugyedeung
📍 완도읍 정도리, Wando
Gugyedeung Pebble Beach, Jeongdo-ri, is a beach covered with rounded pebbles instead of sand. Its defining sound comes from the stones clacking together as waves roll in and out, so it's as much a place to listen as it is to look.
An evergreen forest wraps around behind the beach like a screen, making the shade a good place to rest. Because the shore is pebbly, it isn't easy to walk barefoot; many visitors sit near the waves and listen.

Useful tips
- Because this is a pebble beach, shoes with firm soles are more comfortable than flip-flops.
- The sound of stones rolling is clearer as the tide comes in, so it's worth checking the tide before you go.
- There is shade in the forest behind the beach, so you'll find places to rest even in midsummer.
