EasyTicket Sosu Seowon

Sosu Seowon began in 1542, when Pungi magistrate Ju Se-bung built a shrine honoring the Goryeo scholar An Hyang. In 1550, at the request of Yi Hwang (Toegye), it received royal recognition under the name Sosu Seowon, becoming Korea's first royally chartered seowon (Confucian academy).
As one of the earliest seowon, established before a standardized building layout took hold, it's distinguished by the relatively free arrangement of its structures. The pine-forest walking path around the academy has the quiet, dignified air you'd expect of a UNESCO World Heritage site, making it a popular photo spot as well.
