EasyTicket Huinnyeoul Culture Village

The name Huinnyeoul comes from a stream that flowed down the slope of Bongnaesan Mountain in Yeongdo toward the sea and was said to look white as snow. It was once a neighborhood where wartime refugees settled, and after 2011, empty houses were renovated into cafes and studios, becoming the culture-and-arts village you see today.
Walk the narrow path along the cliff and you'll have a wall on one side and an open view of Namhang Harbor on the other. From the village lane, stairs lead down to Jeoryeong Coastal Trail, where a seaside walking section continues for just over 3 km; pick up a map at the information center before you start so you don't lose your way in the alleys.

Useful tips
- The village lane and Jeoryeong Coastal Trail are connected by stairs, so it's better to walk them together.
- Residents live along these narrow alleys, so keep noise down early in the morning and late at night.
- The parking lot is paid and not very large, so public transit is easier on weekends.
- Around sunset, the light over Namhang Harbor reaches into the alleys, making it a good time for photos.
- There are many stair sections, so it's hard to get around with a stroller or rolling suitcase.

Should I visit both this and Gamcheon Culture Village?
Gamcheon is about hillside alleys and colorful houses, while Huinnyeoul centers on sea views from atop the cliffs, so they feel quite different. If you put both into one day, there's a lot of moving around and climbing up and down; if time is tight, it's better to choose just one.
