Chuam Chotdaebawi Rock and Suspension Bridge

📍 추암동, Donghae

Chuam Chotdaebawi Rock and Suspension Bridge photo

Chuam Chotdaebawi is a coastal landmark where a cluster of candlestick-shaped rock formations rises out of the sea. The scenery changes noticeably between rough and calm-wave days, so it leaves a different impression depending on the season and weather.

The sunrise at Chotdaebawi, which stands in a row alongside Hyeongjebawi (Brothers Rock), even appeared in the Aegukga video played on Korean TV, which is how the spot became widely known. Crossing the 72-meter suspension bridge beside it lets you experience the sea from even closer up.
