EasyTicket Saebyeol Oreum
📍 애월 봉성, Western Jeju
This 519m-high oreum rises in Bongseong-ri, Aewol-eup. Its name comes from the idea that it stands alone like the evening star, and with the south peak at the center, the ridges split into separate peaks, making it look close to a star shape from above.
The trail splits into two routes: a gentler eastern route and a shorter but steeper western route. Either way, it takes 20 to 30 minutes to reach the summit, and even circling the ridge before coming down takes about an hour, so it's not too demanding for first-time oreum hikers.
From the summit, the fields and coastline of western Jeju open wide, and you can see as far as Biyangdo Island. Around October, the whole slope is covered in silver grass, turning silver in the backlight near sunset.

Can I climb it in sandals instead of sneakers?
The path mixes dirt trail and palm-fiber mats, so it's manageable on dry days. After rain, though, the soil gets slippery and your feet can slide on the way down, so shoes with good grip are safer.
