EasyTicket Hyeopjae Beach & Geumneung Beach

These two beaches sit side by side on the coast of Hallim-eup. The white sand, mixed with finely crushed shells, makes the water look especially bright, and Biyangdo Island floats offshore, so the island appears in the background from almost any angle.
The seabed deepens gently, making it relatively easy to enjoy the water with children. Behind the sand are a pine grove and campground where you can escape into shade at midday, and hot-water showers, changing rooms, and restrooms are also available.
The Hyeopjae side has clustered parking lots and shops, so it draws more people, while Geumneung, about a 10-minute walk west, is relatively quiet. The two beaches are connected by sand, and many visitors walk between them to compare the atmosphere.

Useful tips
- The water looks brightest when morning sunlight overlaps with high tide.
- To include Biyangdo Island in the background, shoot from the western side of the sand on the Geumneung side.
- If the Hyeopjae parking lot is full, moving over to the Geumneung side is much faster.
- Settle into the shade of the pines behind the beach, and you can escape the midsummer heat.
- Hallim Park is right next to Hyeopjae, so it's easy to pair as a backup plan on cloudy days.
Frequently asked questions
If I can visit only one, Hyeopjae or Geumneung, which is better?
Hyeopjae has more facilities and shops, while Geumneung is quieter and more open for sunset views. If you plan to rent gear or also sort out a meal, Hyeopjae is easier.
Can I visit even outside the official beach season?
The beaches themselves are open year-round, so you can walk and take photos anytime. However, lifeguards and showers operate only during the summer beach season, so going into the water outside that period is not recommended.
