Gaesimsa Temple
📍 운산면 개심사로, Seosan
Gaesimsa Temple is one of Chungnam's representative temples, with 1,300 years of history. The forest path from Sinchang Reservoir to the temple is known as a cherry blossom spot. In spring, you can see several kinds of cherry blossoms here, including double cherry blossoms and green cherry blossoms.
South of the reservoir, low hills of pastureland spread out, with scenery where you can see wildflowers and grazing cattle. It's also worth enjoying as a walking course, following the mountain path up to the temple.

Useful tips
- During cherry blossom season, the walk in from Sinchang Reservoir is a highlight in itself, so give yourself enough time.
- Green cherry blossoms have a relatively short bloom period, so it's a good idea to check bloom updates before you visit.
- There is an uphill walk to the temple grounds, so comfortable walking shoes are the better choice.
