How to Tell Incheon Airport Terminals Apart in 2026: Airlines and Shuttle Time Buffers

For Incheon Airport terminals, the most reliable approach is to check the T1/T2 designation on your e-ticket rather than memorize which airline uses which terminal. If you arrive at the wrong one, budget 45 minutes for the free shuttle or 25 minutes for the Airport Railroad and decide right away.

📌 How T1 and T2 differ in 2026

Airlines using Terminal 1

Terminal 1 is used by Jeju Air, T’way Air, Eastar Jet, Air Premia, Parata Air, and many other international carriers. Its address is 272 Gonghang-ro, Jung-gu, Incheon.

Airlines using Terminal 2

At Incheon International Airport, Terminal 2 is used not only by Korean Air and Jin Air but also by Asiana Airlines, Air Busan, and Air Seoul. Asiana Airlines moved to Terminal 2 effective 00:00 on January 14, 2026. (Source: Asiana Airlines)

For codeshare flights, check the operating carrier

The table is for a quick reference. On codeshare flights, the marketing airline and operating carrier may differ, so prioritize the Operated by line on your e-ticket and the terminal shown in Incheon Airport’s departure-flight search results.

✅ How to avoid confusion before departure

Check these three things on your e-ticket

After cross-checking the details, I found it much simpler to check the flight number in the search results than to rely on the airline name alone.

  • T1 or T2 designation on your e-ticket
  • Actual operating airline and flight number
  • Incheon Airport terminal shown in the search results on the day of departure

Set your transport destination to the terminal

The Airport Railroad has separate stations for Incheon Airport Terminal 1 Station and Incheon Airport Terminal 2 Station. Set the destination for your limousine bus, taxi, or parking lot to the same terminal as your flight, and share a screenshot showing T1/T2 with your travel companions.

🚌 How to use the Incheon Airport shuttle if you go to the wrong terminal

How to get from T1 to T2

Take the free Airport 04 shuttle from in front of Gate 8 on the third floor of Terminal 1. It runs every 10~20 minutes, and the route operates from 04:30~23:20. (Source: Incheon International Airport Corporation)

How to get from T2 to T1

Take the free Airport 03 shuttle from in front of Gate 7 on the third floor of Terminal 2. It runs every 7~20 minutes, and operates from 04:30~23:35.

Comparing shuttle and Airport Railroad travel times

MethodOfficial detailsTotal time to budget
Free shuttleMaximum interval: 20 minutes; fare: free45 minutes
Airport Railroad all-stop train6 minutes after boarding; regular fare: 1,200 won25 minutes

Current official shuttle information does not list a separate driving time between the terminals. So EasyTicket’s conservative planning estimate of 45 minutes includes getting to the stop and the maximum wait.

How to travel between Incheon Airport terminals by shuttle and Airport Railroad

⏱️ How to calculate your last chance to make it

Work backward from the airline’s check-in deadline

Latest time to start moving = airline check-in deadline - travel-time buffer. Subtract 45 minutes for the shuttle or 25 minutes for the Airport Railroad. Check your e-ticket first, because check-in deadlines vary by airline.

Example: a 10 a.m. Korean Air flight

Korean Air international check-in closes at 09:00, 60 minutes before departure. If you arrive at T1 by mistake, the shuttle’s calculated cutoff is 08:15, and the Airport Railroad’s is 08:35. To leave enough time for security screening, it’s safer to set 07:45 and 08:05—30 minutes earlier—as your practical cutoff times.

The calculated cutoff is not a guaranteed boarding time. If you’ve already passed it, contact the airline immediately while making your way to the correct terminal.

⚠️ Important notes and FAQ

Is Asiana Airlines always at Terminal 2 now?

Flights departing from or arriving at Incheon that are operated directly by Asiana Airlines use T2. However, codeshare flights follow the operating carrier’s terminal, so don’t decide based on the OZ flight number alone.

Can I catch the last shuttle if I arrive before service ends?

04:30~23:20 and 04:30~23:35 are the route’s operating hours. You can’t assume they are the exact last-shuttle times at intermediate stops, so check each stop’s timetable late at night.

Are T1’s concourse and Terminal 2 the same place?

No. The concourse is the area you reach by shuttle train after security screening at Terminal 1, and once you go there, you can’t return. It is completely different from the free shuttle to Terminal 2.

Check the Incheon Airport terminal designation twice—the day before departure and again just before leaving for the airport—and save a screenshot. This small check can greatly reduce the risk of arriving at the wrong terminal.
