Gimyujeong Rail Bike (Gangchon Rail Park)
📍 신동면, Chuncheon
This rail bike runs right on the old tracks left unused after the Gyeongchun Line was converted to a double-track electric railway. The boarding area is right next to Gimyujeong Station on the Gyeongchun Line, so you can arrive by train and walk straight to the platform.
The full route is 8.5km. You pedal the first 6km yourself, then transfer to the Romance Train for the remaining 2.5km to the former Gangchon Station. The pedaling section is mostly a gentle downhill, so it won't be too hard on your legs.
Along the way, you'll pass several tunnels decorated with lights and music, with mountains, rice fields, and the Bukhan River appearing in turn. Around the boarding area, there are also cafes and activities like a zipwire.

- The Literary Village of Kim You Jeong is within walking distance from Gimyujeong Station, so the two pair well.
Frequently asked questions
Do I have to keep pedaling the whole time?
Most of the 6km pedaling section is a gentle downhill, so you only need to put in real effort on the flat parts. If two riders take turns pedaling, you can reach the end without much strain.
