This protected Natural Monument forest is home to roughly 2,800 nutmeg yew trees aged 500 to 800 years. Their branches spread wide, so even at midday the inside of the forest is deeply shaded.
Course A, laid with red volcanic scoria, is a 2.2 km loop and a barrier-free section accessible to strollers and wheelchairs. If you take Course B, you can see the New Millennium Bija Tree and yeonriji, paired trees whose branches have grown together.
A full loop takes about 1 hour to 1 hour 30 minutes. Walk early, when there are fewer people, and the air inside the forest feels noticeably different; some visitors arrive right at opening time for that.

Useful tips
- Course A is a barrier-free loop, so strollers and wheelchairs are manageable.
- Last admission is at 5 PM, so check the time before visiting late in the afternoon.
- The forest stays cool, so even in midsummer it's worth bringing a light outer layer.
- The volcanic scoria ground leaves red dust, so light-colored shoes may get stained.
- Maze Land is only a few minutes away by car, making it easy to split the two between morning and afternoon.
Frequently asked questions
Is it okay to walk with kids?
Course A is a flat loop, so you can manage it even with a stroller. Walking the full route takes more than an hour, so with very young kids it's better to stick to Course A.
