EasyTicket Omokdae Pavilion
📍 교동(한옥마을), Jeonju
This pavilion sits on a hill beside Hanok Village, overlooking rows of layered tile roofs below. The story goes that in 1380, Yi Seong-gye stopped here on his way back after defeating Japanese raiders at Hwangsan and held a feast.
On the hill stands a stele engraved with writing by King Gojong, and if you cross the pedestrian overpass and go about another 70m uphill, it leads on to Imokdae. Just below the overpass is Jaman Mural Village.
From the entrance, it takes only about 5 minutes up the stairs and slope to reach the pavilion, and at night you can see the hanok roofs lit up. Many people come here for a walk in the early morning or around sunset.

Useful tips
- There are stairs and an uphill stretch, but it takes only a little over 5 minutes to reach the pavilion.
- The lights come on around dusk, so climb up in the evening if you want the night view.
- Cross the pedestrian overpass and the route continues straight to Jaman Mural Village and Imokdae.
- If you just take in the view and come back down, this is a short route you can finish in 20-30 minutes.
- There isn't much shade at midday in summer, so early morning is more comfortable for walking.
Frequently asked questions
Are Omokdae and Imokdae the same place?
They are different places. From Omokdae, cross the pedestrian overpass and walk about another 70m uphill to reach Imokdae; even linking the two on foot takes only about 10 minutes.
