EasyTicket Dongpirang Mural Village

The name Dongpirang combines dong, meaning east, with birang, a Tongyeong dialect word for slope. The hillside village nearly got demolished for redevelopment, but in 2007 people began painting its walls, shaping it into what you see today.
The alleys split in many directions, with paintings filling walls and stairways, so the way to explore this village is simply to wander up and down any path without a fixed order. The murals are repainted through a contest every two years, so they change each time you visit.
From the hilltop, Gangguan Harbor and the moored boats spread out below. This is a real residential neighborhood, so keep your voice down early in the morning and late at night.

- The hillside is steep and has many stairs, so flat shoes are best.
- The view over Ganggu-an opens up widest once you climb toward the top of the village.
