Hajodae
📍 현북면 하광정리, Yangyang
Hajodae is one of Yangyang's 10 scenic spots, a pavilion named after the story that Ha Ryun and Jo Jun, founding meritorious subjects of the Joseon dynasty, once lived there in seclusion. The current pavilion was rebuilt in 1955 and designated Scenic Site No. 68 in 2009.
The pine tree growing on the cliff in front of the pavilion appeared in an old national anthem video, so it's sometimes called the 'Patriotic Pine.' Following the deck path down leads to Gisamun Lighthouse, built in 1962, which is still an active unmanned lighthouse today.
